A special message from Urban Ventures' Board Chairman, Scott Anderson

March 1, 2016

Dear Friends, Supporters and Partners of Urban Ventures,

For the past 24 years, Urban Ventures has been relentlessly pursuing its vision of a city without urban poverty.

Today, our organization builds on its legacy of success and enters a new chapter of living out its mission. Timothy Clark, Urban Ventures’ Chief Executive Officer, announced that he will be leaving his leadership role. Tim will become President and Chief Executive Officer of TreeHouse, a faith-based nonprofit focused on helping at-risk teens. This transition will occur over the coming weeks and months.

Tim and the Urban Ventures Board of Directors both agree that this is the right move for him at this time. Undoubtedly, Urban Ventures has never had a stronger foundation on which to build a better future. It also opens the doors for new leadership for Urban Ventures' next chapter.

Over the last four years, Tim’s leadership helped reshape Urban Ventures from a founder-led, neighborhood-focused organization into a regional leader in holistic, faith- based community development. I am proud of Tim’s accomplishments building a top- notch team, scaling our reach, strengthening our financials, and forging innovative partnerships.

With a solid strategic vision in place, the Board intends to fill the role of CEO with a leader who will forge even deeper ties with the community in a way that strives to bring even more credibility, compassion and effectiveness to our work.

The Board has already begun this effort, setting into motion an active succession planning process. I am confident that we will continue to build momentum while finding the right person to lead our organization into the future.

Let us all join in thanking Tim for his leadership and commitment to Urban Ventures.

Scott Anderson, Chairman
Board of Directors, Urban Ventures
