Below is the Staff Memo that Israel, our Youth Mentoring Director, send out to celebrate our summer youth program.
Hi Team,
And that’s a wrap! VentureX 2026 has officially come to a close, and what an incredible summer it has been.
Over the past several weeks, we had the privilege of walking alongside our students as they developed their Launch Plans, built meaningful relationships with coaches and mentors, participated in devotionals, explored college and career pathways, and simply had a lot of fun together. Through field trips, workshops, games, and one-on-one conversations, we saw students grow in confidence, connection, and hope for their future.
One of the biggest highlights this summer was the people. We truly had some of the best volunteers, coaches, interns, and staff anyone could ask for. Their consistency, encouragement, and willingness to invest in our students created an environment where young people felt safe, valued, and supported. Throughout the summer, many students opened up about challenges they were facing, allowing our team to come alongside them with care, encouragement, and practical support.
Some highlights from this summer included:
Students were connected with a coach to begin developing a personalized Launch Plan.
Weekly devotionals and opportunities for prayer led by staff and Pulse interns.
A college and career panel featuring recent graduates and young professionals.
Entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and life skills workshops.
Field trips and team-building experiences that strengthened relationships and created lasting memories.
An amazing group of volunteers and staff who consistently showed up for our students with excellence and care.
While the summer program has ended, the relationships and momentum built over these past weeks will continue throughout the school year as we remain committed to helping students discover purpose, overcome barriers, and prepare for life after high school.
Thank you to everyone across Urban Ventures who supported VentureX in big and small ways. Whether you volunteered, prayed, provided resources, encouraged our team, or simply cheered us on, your support helped make this summer possible.
We’re grateful for all that was accomplished and excited to see how God continues to work in the lives of these students.
