VOLUNTEER WITH CITYKID ENTERPRISES

CityKid Enterprises is a budding food-centered social enterprise headquartered right off the Midtown Greenway.  The many areas depend on the hard work of passionate volunteers like you to deliver fresh, affordable produce to nutritionally-vulnerable neighborhoods in Minneapolis.

It's growing season and we need your help on our CityKid Farms! Get your hands dirty seeding, weeding, and harvesting fresh vegetables. Sign up individually or bring your family, friends, or community group.  Locations in South Minneapolis and Lakeville.

Help staff our Greenway Cafe & Farmers Market, giving you the chance to interact with a diverse cross-section of our community.  Sell veggies, prepared foods & social enterprise products, and help spread a passion for healthy eating.

Or, maybe you're an avid chef.  Sign up to help with kitchen prep for our prepared food and be part of expanding our offering of social enterprise products.

SKILLS-BASED VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Have a professional skill to share? Here are some of our critical needs.

Events
___

Serve on an event planning committee, or sign up to help with day-of-event activities. Learn what goes on "behind the scenes" by finding raffle or silent auction items, setting up decorations, working the registration desk, and stuffing envelopes.

Marketing
___

Communications volunteers work on design projects, copywriting, gathering participant stories, social media strategy, digital asset management, photography, video projects, Web updating, peer-to-peer fundraising, and more.

Music
___

Volunteer instructors teach private music lessons to youth in the Urban Ventures Music Academy. Volunteers work with students to develop their musical skills and technique with guitar, keyboard, drums, and vocals.

Last year, volunteers invested over 10,800 hours of their time into Urban Ventures. That's the equivalent FIVE full-time staff members!

Be part of the team that is empowering transformation in South Minneapolis.
