Building Healthy Communities, One Step at a Time
This past weekend, more than 35 families gathered at Urban Ventures for a Health Fair. It was a chance to learn, connect, and take practical steps toward caring for themselves and their loved ones.
Neighbors stopped by resource tables to check their blood pressure and glucose levels, explore insurance options, and meet representatives from local clinics and county services. For many, it was a first step toward new connections with providers who can support their health long term.
Health is about more than the physical body. Families made follow up appointments for mental health support, while others asked for prayer or found encouragement at the church resource table. The fair created space for conversations about wholeness in body, mind, and spirit and the importance of belonging to a caring community.
What stood out most was the energy of neighbors helping neighbors. Families shared their stories and community partners offered time and expertise. It was a reminder that healthy communities do not just happen. They grow when people come together to care for one another.
