What Is Urban Hour? (And Why You Should Come)

Urban Hour is our happy hour gathering for people who care about South Minneapolis.

This year it's on Friday, April 17 at Fowling Warehouse Minneapolis (Downtown).

What actually happens?

You show up, get a drink ticket and a raffle ticket, and spend the evening with people who care about this neighborhood.

It’s great people, a good cause, and a fun activity. This year is a chance to try Fowling.

Around 6 we have a short program with a story from someone whose life looks different because of Urban Ventures. (It's worth staying for. Trust us.)

At 7:00 we’re kicking off the Fowling Tournament.

Wait, what is Fowling?

Fowling is bowling, but with footballs.

Does it sound like something created by bored middle schoolers? Yes.

Is it chaotic? Absolutely.

Is it fun? We didn’t stop smiling when we tried it.

How much does it cost?

Tickets are $20 each and include a drink ticket, a raffle ticket, and a spot at the Fowling Warehouse for the evening.

If you're coming with a group, there's a buy-four-get-one-free deal. Bring your crew.

Want to compete in the Fowling Tournament? Teams of two can enter for $80 per person.

All proceeds go directly to serving our community.

Who goes to Urban Hour?

People who've supported Urban Ventures for years. People who are just getting to know us. People who are curious about what we do. And people who got invited to learn about Urban Ventures for the first time.

That last group is our favorite. If you know someone who's been curious about Urban Ventures or looking for a way to get connected to what's happening in South Minneapolis, this is a good first step. Bring them. We'd love to meet them.

Why go this year?

South Minneapolis has been through a lot. Urban Ventures has been here through all of it, the same way we've been here for over 30 years.

Urban Hour is a chance to gather, take a breath, and hear firsthand what's happening in the organization and the neighborhood. We've earned a good night together. Come be part of it.
